Paul Williams: Full Circle

Growing up I was a huge fan of the Muppets/Fraggle Rock and so many more puppet shows in the early & late 70's. Looking to be on the other side of the TV was most kids dreams and goals even till this day. But to be able to look up to the same people that help shape your out look and aspirations in the pursuit of Making your dreams a reality, happens to be my Boss! Such an honor!!!

If your not knowledgable of whom I speak here's the background of a Great Songwriter/Actor: Mr. Paul Williams

Mr.Williams is responsible for a number of enduring pop hits from the 1970s, including a number of hits for Three Dog Night (including "An Old Fashioned Love Song", "The Family of Man", and "Out in the Country"), Helen Reddy ("You and Me Against the World"), and The Carpenters, most notably "Rainy Days and Mondays," "I Won't Last a Day Without You," and "We've Only Just Begun", which has since become a cover-band standard and de rigueur for weddings throughout North America. "We've Only Just Begun" was originally a song for Crocker National Bank television commercial featuring newlyweds. An early collaboration with Roger Nichols, "Someday Man", was covered by The Monkees (a group for which he auditioned but was not cast) on a 1969 single, and was the first Monkees' release not published by Screen Gems. Bobby Sherman also sang "Cried Like a Baby". Anne Murray sang "Talk It Over in the Morning". He also wrote the cantata Wings with music by Michel Colombier.
A frequent cowriter of Williams was musician Kenneth Ascher; their songs together included the popular children's favorite "The Rainbow Connection", sung by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie. Williams also collaborated with Biff Rose, notably on the song "Fill Your Heart", originally recorded by Tiny Tim as the B-side of his 1968 hit "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" and subsequently covered by David Bowie on his album Hunky Dory. Most recently, he collaborated with Scissor Sisters on their second album, Ta-Dah.[citation needed] He first was a part of a short lived rock group called "Holy Mackerel".
Williams has worked on the music of a number of films, including writing and singing on Phantom of the Paradise (in which he also starred and earned an Oscar nomination for the music) and Bugsy Malone. He contributed lyrics to the song You're So Nice to Be Around with music by John Williams, and it earned them a Oscar nomination. Along with Kenneth Ascher and Rupert Holmes, they wrote the music and lyrics to A Star Is Born, with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The bittersweet love ballad, Evergreen, from the movie won the Academy Award for Best Song of The Year.
He is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and his songs have been performed by both pop and country music artists. He has won one Academy Award for best song (Evergreen) from A Star Is Born (co-written by the artist who performed it, Barbra Streisand) and has been nominated for several others.
He wrote the music for a musical production of Happy Days that debuted in 2007.
In April 2009, Williams was elected President and Chairman of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). cited reference ~ http://paulwilliamsconnection.org/

"FAMILY REUNION, FAMILY BUSINESS"

This was a monumental moment in my life to finally be re-united with my Oldest brother! Which I haven't seen since I was six years old. His incarceration had left a void, that many times I looked to fill with sometimes the wrong people and wrong ideas! Lucky for me there was Hip Hop culture in it's Golden Age that helped fill that void, and replace bad street rules, lessons! Just in one day I learned so much about his past and in turn about mine! Life sometimes can be a puzzle with many missing pieces that can affect your course, until you as the individual choose not to let it direct your choices! Life's lessons can be learned the hard way, but in the most beneficial ways!

Will be the 1st Billioniare Hip Hop MC/Artist/Performer - JAY-Z (Sean C. Carter)

If you think this Life of Jay-Z isn't ambition, struggles, hardship, and perseverance's plus is not personal and just business then your some kind of "AMERICAN IDIOT"!!!

We all have a passion that fuels our dreams and goals, some have a wider lens, clearer picture then others. Is that by design or by mere chance, this question has plagued many of Social Scientist in our culture. What makes a person strive for greatness? Is it their up-bringing, communities surroundings, personal lifestyle choices. What is it, as it boggles the mind of many trying to get to any of these Mental Giants accomplishments!

Answer: It's something on the inside that shapes your outside/outlook! A strength when all others are lost and satisfied with trying to win, but fail! This is not an option, by any means necessary!

All My hats are off to Sean C. Carter (JAY-Z) for representing those of us wanting to be the Best GOD intended!!! BK STAND UP!!!

Amanda Ghost - Ghost Stories (2000) re-released (2009)

What to say? Amanda Ghost is amazing. It's a pity she is not more popular but true talent is hardly ever popular. Ghost Stories is an great CD to listen to. It's ear-candy is a fusion of rock, pop, dance, and classical. Amanda Ghost penned the lyrics to all the tracks on Ghost Stories. Below are Amanda's explanations for some of the songs featured on the album ...
"Filthy Mind" is about everything that goes on in our minds that we wouldn't dream of saying aloud."Idol" is about not having a singer that inspires her, the sorry state of music today. "The last person that said something to me in modern music was Kurt Cobain. He's a spiritual leader for the disenchanted. I can't think of anyone around now that I can say, 'Wow, that person's really got something to say,'" Ghost laments. "We're all becoming victims of style; it's style over content. What's trendy, what's fashionable, what's hip--that's not what speaking to the youth is about. I'm not trying to be aspirational; I do want people to empathize, though. I'm not putting myself on a pedestal, saying, 'Everybody, I've got the answers!' Because I don't. But I do ask the questions. Everybody's got sh-t going on in their head they wouldn't want to broadcast.""Glory Girl" is about Amanda's older sister. "The Wrong Man" is about every man Ghost has ever been involved with. Cellophane is about how she feels. Like shes wrapped in a clear substance, people can see how she carries herself but they can't see how she feels inside. Blind Man is about music industry executives.  via @ NEPTIN  ATL, GA

Oberlin College's Free Tuition Plan

Founded in 1833, Oberlin was the first institution of higher education in America to adopt a policy to admit students of color (1835) and the first college to award bachelor’s degrees to women (1841) in a coeducational program. http://new.oberlin.edu/

The School's history should shed light on why this program for the High school students that get a scholastic reward. Also get a reward of a free education that will save them roughly around $148 K or $ 45 K a year times 4-5 years of schooling. This needs to be a educational program offered by all community colleges within their perspective states, which would aid in boosting their attendance as well as appeal! Which in turn could offset the debt incurred after graduates complete their degrees.
